What It Looks Like To Leap Off The New York Freedom Tower

Three BASE jumpers filmed themselves falling 1,776 feet. Here's the footage

Time was it, if you wanted to know what it felt like to climb a mountain, go on safari or indeed base jump off the top of the tallest building in the Western hemisphere, you had to pack up your kit and bloody well go do it.

Andrew Rossig, James Brady and Marco Markovich leapt off the 1,776 foot New York Freedom Tower this week, before turning themselves into police (funnily enough, leaping off buildings in central New York in the middle of the night isn’t strictly legal).

Remarkably, all of the three men – and the good people of the city below – escaped without injury, though they could yet face prosecution for the stunt.

Meanwhile if you want to know what it looks like leaping off the tallest building in New York – without posing any risk to yourself – then watch the video about from around half way in.
