Germany Vs Brazil

The Reactions

Most Popular

Brazil exited the World Cup last night after an incredible seven-goal mauling by Germany, with five coming inside the first 30 minutes of the game. Toni Kroos and André Schürrle each scored two, while Brazil's consolation (some consolation) came courtesy of Oscar in the 90th minute. In what has repeatedly been described as the most exciting World Cup of all time, Brazil's dismantling was not only the most startling aspect of this tournament but very probably the most shocking result in football history. The result also caused a record 35.6m people to take to Twitter to discuss the match. Here are some of our favourite reactions.

"It was not just a defeat for the host nation, but a humiliation for the host nation. It is the most extraordinary night's football I have ever witnessed and it was a result you could never imagine in a million years." Gary Lineker for the BBC.
