Check Out The New Premier League Logo

A colourful new lion for the social media age

Exciting news in the world of football-related graphic design - the Premier League have revealed their new logo which will be used from the 2016/07 season.

The traditional lion of the England badge has been given a colourful new look, partly to make it more smartphone / social media friendly, but mainly to reflect the fact that the PL won't have a corporate sponsor for the first time since its inaugural 1992-1993 season.

But before you hail this as a sign money is loosening its grip on the beautiful game (as if), it is worth noting that this is part of the PL's attempt to establish itself as an international brand in own rights, like the NFL and NBA.

Apparently all 20 Premier League sides were consulted about the new brand identity last week, returning the unanimous verdict that it is 'top, top logo'.
