The race to be Bond just got even more interesting.
A bookmaker has suspended betting on who will be the next 007 after the odds on Tom Hiddleston dropped dramatically.
The actor, also known for playing Marvel superhero villain Loki, was tipped to play the spy following his role as the secret agent Jonathan Pine in The Night Manager.
Hiddleston also became the bookies favourite, with odds of 2-1, after reports last week of him meeting with Bond director Sam Mendes and producer Barbara Broccoli.
But after a particularly large bet, Hiddleston's odds were slashed even further to 1-2 and Coral bookmakers decided to suspend betting.
Nicola McGeady from Coral said: "There is no smoke without fire, and following the big gamble on Tom Hiddleston in the last 24 hours, we've had no choice but to pull the plug on the market."
Previous frontrunner Idris Elba was on odds of 9-1, with Homeland's Damien Lewis pricing at14-1 before betting was suspended.
McGeady added: "Earlier in the year there was a gamble on Idris Elba and Damien Lewis, but nothing has come close to the recent gamble on Hiddleston."
Mad Max Fury Road actor Tom Hardy had 4-1 odds, while Poldark's Aiden Turner had odds of 3-1 before voting was halted.
Hiddleston may the favourite but the race is not over yet. Any chance we can see them all play James Bond?
