Here's a nugget of Game of Thrones trivia you might not know: Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) and Bronn (Jerome Flynn) used to date in real life.

According to The Telegraph, the couple dated long before Game of Thrones crashed onto our screens in 2011, being linked romantically in the early 2000s.

"We're not a couple right now, people have seen us together and jumped to conclusions," Flynn said back in 2003. "I can't rule out a relationship with her in the future, I just don't know."

Headey previously dated actor Jason Flemyng for nine years up until 2003, and later married musician Peter Loughran in 2007. The pair divorced in 2013 and have one child together.

Flynn and Headey's relationship was kept pretty private, and the couple broke up sometime before the actors accepted roles as major players on Game of Thrones, which has just finished airing its penultimate season.

Gearing up for the eighth and final season, Bronn and Cersei are two of the few remaining main characters of the series that will be going into battle to protect mankind from the White Walkers – and, of course, the ultimate fight for the Iron Throne on which Cersei currently sits.

Although, it seems like Headey is not expecting to end the series victorious despite her current good standing.

Prior to season seven, when asked who she thought would end up on the Iron Throne, she said: "It can't be me because I'm already there. So I'm f**ked."

Game of Thrones will return for its final season in either 2018 or 2019.
