Even the most accomplished Casanovas might be disgruntled to hear that a new study has found heterosexual women have fewer orgasms during sex than any other demographic.

Time to step up your game? Don't worry, scientist have revealed there is a 'golden trio' of sex moves which increase the changes of women reaching orgasm during sex. The results come from researchers at the Kinsey Institute and Chapman University in Indiana who studied over 52,000 Americans aged between 18-64 of different genders and sexual orientations all in monogamous relationships.

These three acts consistently came up as necessary for women to orgasm, earning them the title 'the golden trio':

  1. Genital stimulation
  2. Deep kissing
  3. Oral sex

Study co-author Elisabeth Lloyd commented that: "About 30% of men actually think that intercourse is the best way for women to have orgasm, and that is sort of a tragic figure because it couldn't be more incorrect."

Whilst these three components certainly help with unlocking the key to women's pleasure, lead author of the study David Frederick was quick to stress that there wasn't just one way to guarantee an orgasm.

"Women really are tremendously variable in how readily they orgasm and what makes one woman orgasm can be quite different than what makes another woman orgasm," he said. "Explicit and direct communication with one's partner is key."
