One of the few rappers who openly shuns the 10-bedroom-white-Miami-mansion and Ace of Spades lifestyle, Kendrick Lamar has always been the kind of performer who lets his music rather than his outfits do the talking. But that doesn't mean that Kung Fu Kenny can't bring the aesthetic when he wants to.

Going for a kind of night and day vibe with back-to-back double denim at the BET Awards, you might be thinking "Ok, he's wearing a denim jacket and some jeans, so what?" and you'd be right, but then you've got to look at the details.
Along with choosing a boxy, cropped fit for his denim jacket that is extremely Spring/Summer '17, Kendrick kept his nighttime denim modern by tucking in his t-shirt (you can master that here... it's very difficult) and opting for jeans with a wider fit (skinny is dead, in case you wondering) that finish above the ankle with a D.I.Y hem.

For his lighter look, Kendrick changed things up with an oversized vintage Levi's jacket - the kind that you can pick up for next-to-nothing at a second-hand shop or market - along with high-cuffed jeans (relaxed fit, of course) and clean white Vans, creating another outfit that's as cool as it is easy to pull off.
Proving that you don't need to be raking in a multi platinum salary to dress well in summer (or any season at that), by paying attention to modern details like shape, cut and fit, Kendrick Lamar turns the tried-and-true Canadian Tuxedo into a 2017 essential.
