Each of the four men who make up the comedy troupe Asperger's Are Us fall somewhere on the autism spectrum. They have been performing together since 2010, their goal to make people laugh. They aren't trying to prove anything about disabilities.

Asperger's Are Us is a documentary about the four friends as they approach a final show together. It was produced by Mark and Jay Duplass and directed by Alex Lehmann, and it premiered at SXSW this past spring to great acclaim. But is the concept of four guys with Asperger's funny? Mark Duplass told Esquire in March:

It's fascinating how self-aware they are. Because they're in a generation where Asperger's is known. They know who they are. They're aware of who they are. They play with that, and they own that. And there's a confidence in that that makes me able to laugh freely without thinking that I'm making fun of them or joking, because they're owning that in that self-aware way that all the great comedians own.

The trailer for Asperger's Are Us dropped this week ahead of the documentary's debut on Netflix. It's funny. Looks like Netflix scored another gem with this.
