Ian McShane is the perfect balance to the Game of Thrones fandom. When he was scheduled to appear on Game of Thrones last season, he spoiled the surprise months in advance, and fans got pissed. Did he care? Not at all! In response to the fan backlash, he told them to calm the hell down, that the show was "just tits and dragons." McShane is here to remind everyone that Game of Thrones is just a fantasy TV show—one that pays him good money to play a made up character.

Now, ahead of his new show American Gods on Starz, McShane has more words for Game of Thrones fans who take the show a little too seriously. Empire asked McShane about the spoiler-terrified culture of Game of Thrones.

"The show is huge but some fans seem to identify with it [too closely]. You want to say, 'Have you thought about your lifestyle? Maybe you should get out a little more.' Firstly, you love it. Secondly, you'll have forgotten by the time it comes out. And what am I giving away? A character beloved by everybody returns. Get a f*cking life."

Sure, it might be a little harsh, but it's just McShane being McShane. And isn't being an anti-hero the most Game of Thrones thing he could possibly do?
