When Martin Hughes found out he was having identical twin girls, his thoughts turned to one of the scariest movie scenes of all time from The Shining.

Yup, that one.

Now that Hughes's twins—Poppy and Isabella—are four years old, he's taught them a Stanley Kubrick-inspired prank. "As they've gotten older and we can travel and stay in hotels, it was a given that I'd get them to stand holding hands in the hallway for a joke," he told Buzzfeed News.

While the girls are too young to know the movie or understand the joke, Hughes told Buzzfeed News they like the prank. "They're too young to leave there to spook people directly," Hughes told Buzzfeed News. "But when we've had them do the pose then stood back and someone's turned the corner they've gasped and gone a little green."

To take it further, Hughes taught his daughters to hold hands and say "come and play with us."

"They're going to love Halloween in a couple of years," he said.
