Star Wars: The Force Awakens shot Daisy Ridley to super-stardom virtually overnight as she appeared in one of the biggest movie franchises of all time after a long-awaited comeback, but despite her much-praised performance, it seems it took its toll.
The 25-year-old actress has opened up about her struggles with fame and her decision to seek therapy during a new interview with Vogue.
Daisy, who is soon set to appear in Force Awakens follow-up The Last Jedi along with crime adaptation Murder on the Orient Express, explained that one fan even tracked down her home and asked for autographs, to which she replied: "No f**kin' way."
She explained: "Everything was so confusing. People were recognising me – I still don't know how to handle it.
"My skin got really bad because I was stressed. It was crippling. I just felt so seen and so self-conscious."
Meanwhile, her mother told her: "Everyone's trying to take ownership of you."
Daisy then explained that she began seeing a therapist, who was a "lovely lady" able to support her through the challenges of fame.
Despite things improving for her massively, she candidly admitted that she still calls her mother on a monthly basis "in hysterical tears, going, 'I'm not equipped to deal with this'".
The latest trailer for The Last Jedi has now landed and here's how it might have tricked you entirely. Meanwhile, director Rian Johnson has slammed claims that he advised fans to avoid it entirely.
