We know that Chris Hemsworth's Marvel contract runs out after Avengers 4.

However, it looks like the star could really be putting the hammer down as Thor, unless they manage to lure him back with something good.

"My contract's coming to an end, we've just finished the last two Avengers," the star confirmed to Channel 7's Sunrise in Australia. "Who knows what the future holds.

"We felt like we reinvented the last one in a big way. It felt refreshed and re-energised. We might have a conversation if there's another great script that comes along. But at the moment that's it."

Speaking last month, Hemsworth said of his contract: "I won't be playing the character again.

"It's sort of a scary thought. This really seemed like this never-ending thing. And now it's potentially finishing."

He also said that if he returned, it would be a conversation "further down the road".

Well, Robert Downey Jr's Iron Man contact was supposedly up years ago, though he still is doing the rounds as Tony Stark. So we live in hope.
