Stranger Things' second season is going to be a non-stop thrill ride straight out of your favourite '80s horror movies.
The Primetime Emmy Award-winning series returns this Halloween to pick up in the aftermath of the slaying of the Demogorgon and young Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) making it home from the Upside Down.
But, it seems all isn't actually that well for young Will after all as he finds himself haunted by panic attacks and visions of a strange creature in the sky. The return of Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) signals that Hawkins, Indiana isn't safe yet.
"[The second season is] Stranger Things but just sorta hopped up a little," Finn Wolfhard (aka Mike) told Entertainment Weekly. "It's almost like season one was drinking a Coke and season two they drank a Red Bull."
Getting back to Will's visions, co-creator Ross Duffer teased that the "shadow monster" that the boy keeps seeing in his nightmare is very much connected to the season's central mystery.
"It's all connected to this singular threat, which is tied into this shape that Will sees in the sky," the writer hinted, with co-creator Matt Duffer adding: "Each episode is building on the last one. It gets much crazier than it ever got in season one."
Matt is also inviting fans to directly compare seasons one and two, much like he and his brother often debate whether a Hollywood sequel is better than its predecessor.
"We want people to argue about what season is better. I want the debate. I want the Toy Story debate," he joked.
