These New Star Wars: The Last Jedi Photos Might Be Better Than Another Trailer
Well, almost
During the long months leading up to the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, I knew a number of people who avoided every single thing Star Wars-related to save themselves from spoilers. They didn't watch trailers, they avoided every article and preview, they didn't even walk down the action figure isle of their local supermarket. They wanted a total surprise, the way people used to experience movies before the internet.
Fans went understandably wild when the first Star Wars: The Last Jedi trailer dropped in April. It was a big moment in Star Wars history that revealed Luke Skywalker's first lines since 1983.
Like we saw in the lead up to The Force Awakens, people analysed every little frame for meaning. In just days, the over-exposure to the trailer was exhausting. I don't even want to look at it again. But here we are 161 days later and there's no second trailer. There have been a few details ahead of the December 15 release, but the biggest reveal has been these photos. They're nice to look at! They're cool! They're enough to tide us over for a few months without ruining the film before it's even released. Maybe we should just enjoy these pretty pictures and be patient for the full movie. But that's probably not going to happen...
