Jay-Z Has Overtaken Diddy To Officially Become The Richest Man In Hip-Hop
By a measly $75million
Diddy has been de-throned.
For the first time since Forbes began measuring the net worth of hip-hop's major players, the 48-year old east coast rapper/producer/vodka entrepreneur and one hell of an Instagram follow has been outstripped by Jay-Z.
Using the values of major assets, financial documents and interviews with analysts, attorneys, managers and key players in the industry, the money magazine estimated Jay-Z's net worth to be $900m (£650.5m), compared to Diddy's $825m (£600m).
Both rappers, along with third placed Dr Dre, have also been ranked the richest American musicians of any genre.
Let's take a look at just how the five richest men in Hip-Hop have built empires and made money.
