With more dodgy accents and snappy dressers than any show on TV, Peaky Blinders wrapped season 4 with a final bloody-soaked episode.

It was a case of ciao Changretta as Adrien Brody's Marlon Brando knock-off put his final plan in place to get revenge on Tommy Shelby and his Brummie buddies.

Some were nervous about what would happen next (and with good reason). For a while, it looked like a coked-up Arthur could be next to kick the bucket.

And we were right. Even a last-minute appearance by Tommy still wasn't enough to save Arthur from taking a wire to the throat from Changretta's men

And as the coffin rolled by, fans couldn't believe what was going on...

With two Shelby's down in just one season, it was hard to see where the show would go from here — would there be anyone left in season 5?

However, Tommy had a trick up his sleeve. Just when it looked like the Peaky Blinders were down and out, Changretta had the tables turned against him thanks to good ol' Al Capone.

Of course Arthur wasn't dead, and that's what you call a "peaky" blinder!

Most of the praise (again) went to Hardy's turn as the potty-mouthed Alfie Solomons.

Though just when it all looked OK for Tommy, he and Alfie had shootout at dawn on the beaches of Margate. So, Tom Hardy's superb performance on the show appears to have finally come to an end.

Even months later in a time of peace, the ghosts of Tommy's past continue to haunt him and will likely roll over into season 5. Don't worry though, as we now have Thomas Shelby MP!

Most viewers couldn't believe it was already over, but at least everyone agreed that it was a damn good ride – and an excellent series finale.

Peaky Blinders will continue with season 5 next year.
