While the dragons and massive battles get the most attention from Game of Thrones fans, the show's fashion is equally important to creating an authentic Westeros.

If you have any doubts on that front, HBO has released an extended teaser taking fans behind the scenes with costume designer Michele Clapton as she crafts brand new attire for your favourite characters:

The video follows Clapton conceiving each new costume at the sketching stage for the likes of Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), and then carries on as she brings her dazzling designs to life for the upcoming seventh season.

As you'll probably notice, the outfits that Clapton has created for upcoming episodes are clearly geared for colder weather — and that's because Winter truly is Coming, friends.

The march of the Night's King and his army of White Walkers bring a cold chill throughout the Seven Kingdoms, as Jon Snow, Daenerys and the Lannisters still fight amongst themselves.

The winter wear that Clapton has designed will also go hand-in-hand with perhaps the most visually-stunning season to date — at least according to cinematographer Robert McLachlan.

"Season 7 is going to be fantastic," McLachlan has promised. "Before, we'd have one or two showstopping, major episodes per season. This season, probably at least half of them are whoppers. They're not going to disappoint."

Game of Thrones returns to HBO on Sunday, July 16 and Monday, July 17 on Sky Atlantic in the UK. Watch a previous extended trailer for these new episodes below:
