As Westerosi politics get more and more unruly, the greatest strategists in all the land are finding it difficult to find the safest alliances. Varys has had his doom foretold by Melisandre after his fight with Daenerys, and Littlefinger is deep in enemy territory up north.

And while he seems relatively safe at the moment—having convinced Sansa and the North he's chill by saving them at the Battle of the Bastards—there was a subtle moment in Episode Three that could hint at his downfall.

In the scene, Sansa—who's doing a bang up job running Winterfell with Jon Snow on vacation down south—is talking to Maester Wolkan, and asks what was the longest winter in the last 100 years.

"I'm not entirely certain," he replies. "I'll check Maester Luwin's records, he kept a copy of every raven's scroll."

Then, Littlefinger gives him this very concerned look.

That might mean there's some incriminating evidence in Luwin's old records. Which could mean there's a scroll connecting Littlefinger's Valryian steel dagger to the assassination attempt on Bran's life back in Season One. If you recall, Catelyn Stark (RIP) fended off the attacker until Summer (RIP) could kill him.

That's the same dagger Littlefinger used to threaten Ned Stark after his betrayal.

But, that's also the dagger which, oddly enough, appeared hanging on Arya's hip in some promotional images for Season Seven. This led many to believe that Arya is going to kill Littlefinger and acquire the dagger. Certainly, the pieces are moving closer to this theory taking place, as we last saw Arya getting very close to Winterfell.

There's another theory that Littlefinger is concerned that Lewing kept a letter between Lysa Arryn and Catelyn Stark about the murder of Ned.

In either case, it's possible Littlefinger exposes himself while trying to hunt down and destroy the evidence. Good thing Arya the assassin and Ed Sheeran fan is on the way.
