With Game of Thrones returning in 2019, there is plenty of time to speculate how the final run of episodes will go down.

While there is an abundance of fan theories floating around, this one in particular has gained a lot of support and traction. And it's about the exact way in which the Night King will conquer Westeros.

In case you need a refresher, Jon Snow is hoping to put together a military force capable enough of repelling the undead army's invasion. His case at the Dragonpit was convincing, but it looks like Cersei Lannister has no intention of sending any of her soldiers to assist in the fight against the Night King.

It turns out this scheming move may not be enough to stop the Night King from overrunning King's Landing.

The fan theory shared on Reddit claims that the Night King will use the art of deception to catch Cersei off-guard.

The heroes up north will engage in a brutal battle against the undead army, barely coming out on top. But the attack from the undead is all just a distraction.

While all the fighting is going on, the Night King and the reanimated dragon Viserion will swoop by undetected towards King's Landing, and it's at this point where they destroy the Westeros capital and kill pretty much everybody there.

"Euron and the Golden Company arrive at King's Landing to a trap, where they are also killed and join the Night's King army," the theory continues.

What's even more interesting about this theory is that it may be backed up by the DVD commentary for season seven.

The show's creators David Benioff and Dan Weiss specifically requested the ceiling remain open in Cersei's map room. Why? Some may argue that it's setting up a scene where a dragon flies over King's Landing as seen in Bran's premonition from season 4.
