Game of Thrones season 8 is still quite some time away, but with the actors wrapping up filming, they're already saying their emotional goodbyes to the show.

Kit Harington, who plays Jon Snow, is the latest star to open up about his time on the hit HBO series.

Speaking to BBC Radio 2, Kit confirmed that he finished his filming on the final season last Thursday (July 5).

"It's just been this amazing journey," he said. "I kinda said to them on my wrap speech that it's always been more than a job. They were a family and it was my life. I've loved every minute of it.

"I've been quite emotional all last week thinking about having finished it."

We can no doubt expect an emotional ending to the show itself – perhaps a mass exodus of main characters including Jon Snow, who will be coming up against an army of White Walkers and even the Night King's new pet dragon.

And thanks to the show going to great lengths to even keep the cast from ruining the ending – they were all given digital copies of the script that automatically deleted after 24 hours – it's unlikely season 8 will be spoiled for us.
