Noel Gallagher stunned The One Show on Thursday by revealing that he would be willing to reunite with brother Liam Gallagher as Oasis.

The feuding siblings have been trading barbs over solo album sales this autumn, leading Noel to vow that he'd never reform Oasis because he feels his brother is condoning cyberbullying towards his family.

However, Noel was singing a different tune — albeit briefly — when he was chatting about this year's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees with The One Show's Matt Baker and guest host Angela Scanlon.

Angela pointed out that Oasis will be eligible for the Hall of Fame in 2019, and then quizzed Noel on whether the induction ceremony would be the perfect venue for the brothers to finally reunite.

"I'd do it," he answered. "I guess you'd have to [reunite], to accept it. That's if you accept it."

Of course, Noel immediately yanked back any hope from fans when Angela pressed him on whether or not he'd actually accept an induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

"I'm gonna say no," he smiled. "We can say yes. Shall we say yes?"

After some pressure from the hosts to give at least a little hope to fans, Noel joked: "Absolutely. I would be thrilled to do it."

So, we're not quite sure where that leaves us in terms of an Oasis reunion — but Noel did let slip what he'll be getting his brother Liam for Christmas this year.

"Well, Liam's been benefiting from my genius for a long time," he quipped. "He's going to have to do with that again this year."

Hopefully Liam sees the funny side of that trademark Gallagher shade…

The One Show airs Mondays through Fridays on BBC One at 7pm.
