Mo Farah might have won the BBC Sports Personality of the Year 2017 award but he certainly won't be getting any prizes for his interview skills tonight.

His second attempt at a video interview from London following his win resulted in a lost connection, meaning he couldn't give his thoughts on winning at all.

And his first interview earlier in the evening saw the athlete being upstaged by his young son, Hussein.

While Gabby Logan attempted to interview Farah from the ceremony in Liverpool, the runner's son sat and squirmed on his knee, before pulling his microphone off his tie.

Logan suggested that Farah's stepdaughter Rihanna take Hussein, but when the boy tried to grab his dad again, she decided to take him out of shot altogether.

But the interview still didn't go smoothly, as the lack of microphone forced Logan to cut things off early.

Viewers enjoyed the moment - let's be honest, it doesn't take much to liven up the SPOTY awards - with some calling for Hussein to get an award himself:
