John Boyega has revealed the one part of filming Star Wars: The Last Jedi that had him pretty concerned.

The actor reprised his role as Stormtrooper-turned-resistance-soldier Finn in the second film of the current Star Wars trilogy, with some major changes for his character's arc this time around.

After spending the majority of The Force Awakens in the company of Daisy Ridley's character, Boyega was told that Finn and Rey would actually only appear on screen together for a few seconds in The Last Jedi, as they are united only at the end of the movie.

According to Boyega, who describes his on-set relationship with Daisy as a "support system", this was "troubling and worrying" news.

We're in no doubt Rey/Finn shippers felt the same.

"It was troubling and worrying [to be apart]," he said, "because we went through a process together and we just expected to be together in this part of the franchise.

"And to find out we would be separated; my heart started beating a little bit. Because we have this support system and being in this position, me and Daisy, we vibe, we understand each other.

"We've been through the same process of, first of all you're doing Morrison adverts and then the next year, you're in Star Wars. So, it's a surprising thing."

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is in cinemas now.
