Yesterday, we saw President Donald Trump in his first UK TV interview with Piers Morgan – and needless to say, it wasn't too enlightening.

Some elements of the interview attracted conversation, including Trump's statement that calling himself a feminist "would be going too far" (what a scoop!), but for the most part it was just two old Apprentice buddies complimenting each other for 45 minutes.

Trump also said that he thinks he's "very popular" in the UK, and that he gets "tremendous support" from people in the country.

And, when Piers said some politicians don't want Trump to visit the UK, he simply said: "That's their problem".

His claims attracted quite a lot of scepticism from viewers:

In the interview, Trump did admit that he would be prepared to apologise for retweeting far-right group Britain First.

"If you are telling me they're horrible people, horrible, racist people, I would certainly apologise if you'd like me to do that," he said.

"I know nothing about them and I know nothing about them today other than I read a little bit. Perhaps it was a big story in Britain, perhaps it was a big story in the UK, but in the United States it wasn't a big story."

Above all, people were amazed that much of the interview ended up being about Piers, rather than the President:
