Get Out has gone from an obscure indie horror flick to unexpected box office smash and Oscar contender in the past year.

In the wake of its success, some have speculated that a sequel is on the cards.

However, director Jordan Peele is actually not averse to the idea, explaining that there may be more story to tell.

"I will definitely seriously consider it," the director told The Hollywood Reporter. "I love that universe and I feel like there's more story to tell. I don't know what it is now but there are some loose ends that want to be tied up."

"I would never want to do a sequel that just feels like for the sake of doing a sequel," he explained, recalling that it took around eight years to write Get Out. "I would have to have a story that I feel like would take it up a notch."

Peele also discussed the audience reaction to the movie, noting that many fans had related to the feeling of 'the Sunken Place' in the movie.

"When you create something like that, it's very personal and meaningful, but to hear that people kind of related to that feeling and needed it to be named has been very touching for me," he said.

As well as scoring four nods, Get Out has had such a cultural impact that there is even a course based upon the movie.
