Tarantino's ninth film Once Upon A Time In Hollywood has already secured both Leonardo Di Caprio and Brad Pitt to play the two lead male roles.

Deadline announced back in July that Tarantino had also approached Margot Robbie, and today a further report says that he now has "the offer and negotiations are underway to make it a reality."

They add that, "Sony Pictures has dated the film for an August 9, 2019 release worldwide. The film is a Pulp Fiction-esque tapestry set in Los Angeles in 1969, at the height of hippy Hollywood, around the time of the murder of Tate and several others in a killing spree ordered by Charles Manson."

Further plot details, including the role Robbie is up for, were scooped by Vanity Fair in November:

"Tarantino’s upcoming movie, according to a source who read the script, focuses on a male TV actor who’s had one hit series and his looking for a way to get into the film business. His sidekick—who’s also his stunt double—is looking for the same thing. The horrific murder of Sharon Tate and four of her friends by Charles Manson’s cult of followers serves as a backdrop to the main story."

Robbie, who was nominated for an Oscar this year for her performance as disgraced figure skater Tonya Harding, has previously starred alongside DiCaprio in The Wolf Of Wall Street.
