Apple has announced a new version of the iPad with improved specs, a decent price point and support for the Apple Pencil, which was previously exclusive to the Pro models.
The new 9.7-inch iPad has a Retina display, an A10 Fusion Chip to deliver faster performance, advanced sensors for augmented reality functions, and what Apple says will be an 'all-day battery life'.
Apple Pencil is designed for apps like Pages, Notes, Keynote and Microsoft Office, and the tech giant says the inclusion of Pencil support on the entry-level iPads is part of its focus on its devices being used for educational purposes.
The new iPad range starts at £319 for the 32GB Wi-Fi-only model, while extra storage space and the Cellular models (ie: mobile data) will see that price go up. The Apple Pencil isn't included in the box, costing another £89 on top.
Apple has been in hot water recently after admitting to slowing down older phones through software updates, and annoyed users by announcing that a host of iOS updates have been delayed until 2019.
