Red is the colour of passion and fury. It symbolises fire. As of now, it's also Apple's new iPhone colour—perfect for anyone whose emotional intensity wasn't quite represented by rose gold.

Apple announced Monday it is releasing a red iPhone 8 and 8 Plus in with Product (RED). The special edition phones are part of Apple's ongoing partnership with (RED), which is working to eliminate the threat of HIV/AIDS in Africa through education, testing, and medicine. A portion of the proceeds of the red iPhones will go to the global fund to fight AIDS.

Apple says it has so far raised over $160 million through the sale of (RED)-themed products like cases, headphones, and last year's special edition red iPhone 7s. (Last year's red iPhone 7s, which are now discontinued, featured a white bezel, while these new red iPhone 8s will have a black one.)

Pre-orders open Tuesday, 10 April, and shipping starts Friday, 13 April. So if you want a new iPhone 8 in a fiery colour that sets you apart from the Apple-using pack and supports a really good cause, now's your chance.
