Whatever you do, please don't shriek with delight at the following news: A Quiet Place is getting a sequel.

The year's biggest breakout horror hit comes from The Office's John Krasinski, who co-wrote, directed and starred in the post-apocalyptic thriller with his real-life wife Emily Blunt.

At CinemaCon in Las Vegas on Wednesday (April 25), Paramount Pictures CEO Jim Gianopulos officially announced that the studio has started developing A Quiet Place 2 (via The Hollywood Reporter).

Gianopulos mentioned that the horror film's writing team already have a concept for A Quiet Place 2 based on material that they had to cut from the original film.

"If you told me five years ago that an almost silent film starring the very funny guy Jim from The Office would have been a hit at Paramount, I would have said well, I should go work at Paramount," Gianopulos joked.

There was first talk of a Quiet Place sequel from its writing team Bryan Woods, Scott Beck and John Krasinski only four days after it debuted in US cinemas.

"There are so many discarded set pieces, too, just hiding out on Word documents on our computer," Beck said on the promotional trail.

"So, yeah, there are certainly so many stories you could tell. It's just really, at the end of the day, who are the characters in this and what does this situation mean to that dynamic?"

A Quiet Place is currently playing in US and UK cinemas. Watch a trailer for the film below:
