Game of Thrones season eight might feature the return of a pivotal character after a potential leak on Instagram.

Wilf Scolding played Rhaegar Targaryen – AKA Jon Snow's father – in the season seven finale and he posted an image of himself outside the Europa Hotel in Belfast on Instagram (via Winter Is Coming).

Now, you might think we're jumping to conclusions just because Game of Thrones is filming its final season in Belfast right now, but the fact that Scolding has deleted the photo suggests that this was an accidental leak.

Of course, the internet doesn't let anything disappear...

We shouldn't be too surprised that Rhaegar will be seen again in flashbacks in season eight given that we expect the secret of Jon's parentage to come out, leading to all manner of awkward conversations with Daenerys.

But, for now, we can only speculate on what those flashbacks might reveal about Rhaegar and his relationship with Lyanna Stark.
