Whoa: After 27 years, we’re finally seeing more of Bill S. Preston, Esq. and Ted “Theodore” Logan. According to The Hollywood Reporter, a third Bill & Ted movie is officially in the works.

After 1989’s Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure and 1991’s Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey, Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter will return for Bill & Ted Face the Music. The script comes from the original creators, Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon; Galaxy Quest's Dean Parisot will direct it.

Face the Music will show what Bill and Ted are like in middle age, with their own families. They still make music with Wyld Stallyns, but they’ve yet to write a very good one. So they go on a time-travel adventure to find the greatest song ever written, and they get help from their daughters, new historical figures, and “some sympathetic music legends,” according to the report.

“Indomitable spirits confronted with, ‘Is this the end?'” Reeves told Entertainment Weekly. “Of course, there is a little caveat in that someone comes from the future and says: ‘Not only do you have to save the world, you have to save everything.'”

The third movie has been in the works for years, with the script initially getting its start in 2010. Now, it’s set to be one of the most buzzed about films being shopped around at the Cannes International Film Festival.

Bill & Ted Face the Music is still in preproduction, so don’t expect it to hit theaters anytime soon. But Winter, who had Reeves narrate his 2015 movie The Deep Web, tweeted Tuesday that he’s already getting ready for a most auspicious trip. “We’re tuning the air guitars,” he wrote.
