Game of Thrones fan Twitter is abuzz again with a few more hints about what the finale of season eight will look like after photos of a set being engulfed in flames emerged.

We already knew that King's Landing would likely be the location of the final showdown given the amount of action and dying that's been going on there of late, but now fan accounts A Red Priestess and GoTlike Locations have shared photos of what looks a lot like the back of the King's Landing set ablaze, and of fire and smoke damage to the city's buildings.

There's only one thing that could cause that kind of devastation: a laissez-faire attitude to fire alarm battery testing dragons. Obviously it's dragons. It has to be dragons. However, there has been one particularly left-field theory floated on Twitter that King's Landing – the city made of stone and almost entirely surrounded by water – could be consumed by wildfire.

Either way, shooting is coming to a close now. Having waved off Emilia Clarke already, it's also just been revealed that the final wrap party will be held next Saturday. It's all getting a bit real now.
