It's been 14 years since Natalie Portman said goodbye to the Star Wars film franchise, and it sounds like she has no firm plans to turn up in the galaxy far, far away again anytime soon.

Some fans have been theorising that Portman's prequel character Padmé Amidala could feature in Star Wars: Episode IX, since the movie is expected to wrap up the Skywalker Saga at least for now.

If Lucasfilm and director JJ Abrams do have a Padmé appearance in the works for Episode IX, they've either not bothered to ask Natalie Portman yet, or the actress is engaging in the age-old strategy of lying to protect the film's secrets.

In an interview with Buzzfeed News, Natalie seemed utterly clueless when told about the talk of her imminent return to the Star Wars franchise.
