By At long last, the trailer for the new season of Peaky Blinders is here, replete with absolutely everything you've come to expect from the Peakyverse: doomy soundtrack, leaden Birmingham skies, a threatening formation stomp down a city street.
So what do we get? An opening shot of Tommy Shelby on his haunches in a field with a machine gun, some plangent piano chords, a spinning close up of Tommy flat on his back, and then some tone-setting dialogue.
"There's God, and there are the Peaky Blinders," says Tommy Shelby. "We own the ropes - who's gonna hang us now, eh?"
"No-one is gonna hang you Tommy - you're gonna hang yourself," replies his sister Ada.
That looks likely to be the path of the upcoming new season. Now Tommy's in Parliament representing South Birmingham, he could well have to come to terms with the fact that he won't be able to bully his way to success and find himself out of his depth. That's exactly where this season's likely antagonist comes in.
"Mr Shelby, you've come to my attention," says Sam Claflin's Oswald Mosley, leader of the British Union of Fascists. Later, he booms, "England lives tonight and marches on."
What else is there? A burning car, Aunt Polly with a handgun, Arthur booting over basket of hot coals, and, most intriguingly, Tommy shooting at a man on a crucifix while explosions go off behind him. Equally as intriguingly, Tommy's sat at a desk when an explosion throws glass all over him.
The final words of the trailer: "Death is a kindness." Could this be the final judgement for Tommy Shelby?
