Since Tommy Shelby was spotted reading Sigmund Freud's The Interpretation of Dreams in the last episode of Peaky Blinders, the black cat stalking his dreams has suddenly turned the show into Tinker Tailor Soldier Brummie.

The introduction of 'the Black Cat', a possible traitor in the midst of the Shelby clan who's planning to sabotage the company and take Tommy Shelby down, has sent fan theorists into overdrive, with nearly everyone a suspect.

As Aberama Gold noted, "only Johnny Dogs and his kin knew where we were camped" and Esme Shelby, widow of young John Boy, would be the closest to 'kin' of Johnny Dogs around the Shelby lot to be able to leak the information. She used to be in with the Lee clan too, remember.

Tommy himself seems quite suspicious of Michael Grey after his sojourn in America and the rumours that he's in with the Billy Boys, but it's his new wife Gina that some fans reckon is ready to take Tommy down. As Reddit's u/BrainyDoc put it: "Hates Tommy. Knows the business inside out. Knows all of the secret gypsy spots in the woods (where they found [Bonnie] Gold and his son)." Rumours of a faked pregnancy and encouragement of Michael's partying with a view to draining the Shelbys' cash abound.

Then there's Lizzie Shelby, Tommy's wife, who would stand to inherit the spoils of the Shelby company if he were to be bumped off or - more likely, given that there's another two seasons to go - eased out of driving seat. Other fans reckon she's cooking up plans with Linda, who's been Lady Macbething her husband Arthur to grab a bit more power for himself.

Or, just maybe, it's a Murder On The Orient Express situation, and Tommy will end up simultaneously deposed by seven or eight different coups. We'll find out soon.
