A man who spends a bordering-on-bizarre amount of time comparing himself to a lion, Zlatan Ibrahimovic's Manchester United career looks to be petering out with a stray cat mew instead of the Serengeti roar he's so used to.

Despite recovering from the knee ligament injury that wrecked what was looking like a very good season in 2016/17, Ibra has moved even further away from the United team sheet with the recent addition of Alexis Sanchez – a signing that could signal the big Swede's imminent departure.

According to ESPN, L.A. Galaxy are close to a deal with Ibrahimovic, with one source stating that progress is "the furthest along it has ever been."

Ibrahimovic signed a one-year contract with United back in August, saying he would "finish what he started", but he has made just seven appearances in all competitions this season for a combined 187 minutes of action.
