Today, we welcome a new addition to the professional boxer's go-to training techniques – you know, things like punching meat, running up museum steps, being covered with wires in a Russian lab – courtesy of Tyson Fury. The Current Lineal Champion of the world has revealed that he's gearing up for his rematch against Deontay Wilder by masturbating seven times a day. Fingers crossed that doesn't make it into the next Rocky montage.

The Gypsy King made the surprising emission admission during a Monday interview with Manouk Akopyan, a reporter who covers boxing for the Los Angeles Times. “If it gives me an edge on winning this fight, I’m willing to try it,” Fury said.

“What are some other things you’re doing to prepare for the fight?” Akopyan asked.

To which Fury replied: “I'm masturbating seven times a day to keep my testosterone pumping."

And if you thought forearm strength was the goal, well, think again.

"Pump it, pump it, pump it, pump it up!" Fury continued. "Don'tcha know! I gotta keep active and the testosterone flowing for the fight. Don't want the levels to go down."

At this point, you may be wondering: does masturbating a whopping seven times a day actually affect your testosterone (T) levels?

The answer is no.

As Jamin Brahmbhatt, MD, Urologist at PUR Clinic and Assistant Professor UCF College of Medicine told Men's Health, "We know from research that testosterone can shift during masturbation or sexual activity. This shift in numbers is fairly quick and does not lead to any major change in the overall testosterone range in your body."

Brahmbhatt added, "So with masturbating more, you're not going to see a change in your testosterone levels that will lead to any major change in your body."

Nevertheless, it seems as if the Gypsy King is truly doing everything possible to get an edge for his upcoming match. Every fight is a big one for Fury at this point, but this one is particularly huge, since the first time he fought Wilder in December 2018, the match ended in a split decision draw with neither fighter being crowned victor.

This time, Fury is really aiming to win via knockout. Any way he can.

“Knockout or go home,” he said. “If I don’t knock him out, it don’t count.”
