'Tis the season to be ripped - if the shirtless meatheads in your local park are anything to go by. But there is a less obnoxious way to flatter your build this summer: make like Michael B. Jordan.
At a Cannes photocall for his upcoming flick Fahrenheit 451, the 31-year-old used one key piece to create a bulkier silhouette up-top: the knitted polo. This classic piece not only goes with most of your existing wardrobe, but uses texture to add thickness to your upper half.
The best bit is that, while shoulders and arms benefit from the swollen illusion, a darker shade eliminates shadow around the waist (and thus shaves some extra pounds). The end result is a shape more in-line with the long coveted 'upside triangle'.
Of course, some effort is needed on your part to maintain a flat(ish) stomach. We're not saying you'll turn twigs into tree trunks either. But follow Jordan's lead, and you'll sculpt a subtle but flattering figure without subjecting your gut to a creatine milkshake.
