As what many assume to be Daniel Craig's last outing as 007, Bond 25 may well be a marker of change for the long-standing series. Fleabag's Phoebe Waller-Bridge is co-writing the script, after all. Though for all the new dawn murmurings, one thing remains a constant under Craig's steer: the wardrobe.
Yes, the besuited, immaculate, achingly British wardrobe. Thanks to the first official image from the latest instalment, there's a reassuring continuation of the stuff that always works: Savile Row-worthy tailoring co-opted by every Bond since Sean Connery (let's forget the rare moment of insanity that was the rent-a-woe morning suit of Licence To Kill).
Better yet, follow the rules and it'll also work for men who haven't been granted diplomatic carte blanche to commit murder. The two-piece - long considered a shape that suits most frames - hugs and fits in all the right places, with all the necessary Bond accompaniments: tie clip in exactly the right place, neatly folded pocket square and, of course, a watch likely armed with the capability of auto-piloting an Apache attack helicopter. Well, either that or a standout Omega.
And so, while details on the latest Bond remain slight, we've a clearer picture of what Craig will actually look like. Which is more of the same - in the finest possible way.
