Introducing the Esquire Debrief, our round table deep-dive into London Fashion Week and the wider industry’s current state of flux.

As London’s first digital-only fashion week drew to a close, we invited Priya Ahluwalia, Edward Crutchley, Nicholas Daley – three of the UK’s most exciting young designers – and Dean Cook, head of menswear buying at Browns, to join Esquire’s fashion director Catherine Hayward and style director Charlie Teasdale in discussing the successes of the weekend and the challenges the future might hold.

Brought together over Zoom, the panel discussed how their respective businesses have fared through the global pandemic and what the crisis means for the fashion industry going forward. What is the role of a fashion brand in 2020? And what is the role of a fashion show? How have consumer habits changed? And what difficult industry conversations has the upheaval of the past few months brought to the fore?

All these questions and more, asked and answered.
