Brad Pitt isn’t one to shy away from brash outfits. The internet went into a frenzy when he sported a skirt on the red carpet, alongside a linen shirt that endorsed some major man-cleavage. His grounds for the look, as explained to Variety, “We’re all going to die, so let’s mess it up,” – yeah, why not? Maybe that’s why the 59-year-old embraced dopamine dressing during his Bullet Train press tour, often going head-to-toe in highlighter-hued suits with equally bright trainers. A style evolution with the kind of 'fuck it' attitude, which you simply can’t knock.

So it comes as no surprise that only a few weeks into 2023, Pitt has been spotted in another conversation-starting ensemble. Between takes on new Apple TV thriller, Wolves, the Oscar-nominee donned noteworthy loungewear. Layered over a white tee – just translucent enough to see his chains sitting underneath – Pitt threw on a teal velour boilersuit, styled with some white slip-on trainers and a lime pashmina in hand.

While this iteration is more of an ‘80s take on the Top Gun style, it seems the Babylon star is fully up to date on what’s happening on the catwalks. During the autumn/winter ’23 fashion shows that have happened over the last few weeks, boilersuits have had a stylish update. In Milan, Emporio Armani presented a particularly pilot-apropos design, prepped for the skies with accompanying leather gloves and flying helmet (with goggles). Etro further endorsed it as a loungewear piece, dousing it’s relaxed silhouette in wide resemblant of traditional pyjamas. While Gucci took a note out of Pitt’s book and had the zip of the olive-green style half-down to expose a chain and some chest. The utilitarian theme didn’t stop in Paris. Lemaire’s minimalist offering included a belt creating a cinched, more professional silhouette, while Sacai’s take was crafted from pin-stripe wool that slightly shimmered via its metallic thread.

The key to avoid looking like a mechanic is through the accessories. Any form of jewellery is a must, even if it’s as simple as the pieces the movie star wears. But don’t be afraid to try something new. As he approaches 60, Pitt proves that there’s never a bad time for a wardrobe shake-up – even it’s caused by doomsday fear.
