It’s well-documented that Harry Styles likes to experiment with his wardrobe. He’ll step on stage in head-to-toe tinsel, or turn up to film premieres in suits that are about as far from traditional black tie as you can get. And why not? He's pushing the envelope of male dressing and gender norms. Paparazzi flashes follow him everywhere he goes. Why not put on a show?

But it is not, suffice to say, always very replicable. A crimson leotard just doesn't feel like the best option for a 'Q2 Targets' meeting, or a boozy session in a pub garden. Styles undoubtably has great style – it’s in his name, after all – but if you want to build a good capsule wardrobe, you should focus on his low-key looks. A good example: the simple outfit he pulled together for a recent outing in L.A.

Emerging after a gym session, Harry wears a casual outfit made of classics. A crowd-pleasing white tee is paired with wide-leg pinstripe trousers, well-worn Vans adorn his feet and a leather tote, accessorised with a kidadult charm, is flung over his shoulder. It’s not going to feature within any fashion exhibitions, like many of his looks, but it's still pleasing on the eye. Better yet, most of these pieces are likely hanging at home already (hooray!) – but if you’re going to invest in pieces stanned by Styles, a pair of oval sunnies are the way to go.

We all know Wayfarers have dominated the sunglasses game for decades, and other classic shapes like Aviators boast timeless appeal. Trying something new can be scary. But these oval frames are a softer take on traditional square styles. They have a feminine allure that feels natural for Styles to be drawn to (could even be pinched from his recent rendezvous with Emily Ratajkowski...) and give his look a little je ne sais quoi that hints to his more extroverted ensembles. Even if you’re not one to dress in the middle of binary gender norms, they give off that effervescent Cool that anyone can easily get on board with.
