Models weaved around a giant tree, some giant scissors and a giant key (engraved, of course, with 'L. Vuitton'). So far, so Virgil Abloh. The designer that brought Off-White's streetwear to one of the world's biggest fashion houses is known for mixing things up. But for Autumn / Winter 2020, streetwear was nowhere to be found.
Instead, there were suits in dreamy cloudscape prints, alongside more traditional tailoring in taupes and tans. Ties too. Abloh had pared back on the iconic LV print also, saving it for accessories – of which there were plenty.
This wasn't a Savile Row redux by any stretch, though. Abloh's touch is there, but in ruffled lapels and sleeves as opposed to the ribbed utility vests and oversized hoodies of previous seasons.
A surprise, then. And on this occasion, we love surprises. Here are all the best looks from the Louis Vuitton Paris show.
