The House of Gucci trailer was released earlier this week, and another Great Fire of Twitter did ignite. Lady Gaga's accent joyrode between Milan and Moscow. Two painted lips mumbled 'bravo' as they clung onto a cigarette, two hands clapping, and a new reaction vid was born. Adam Driver jumped in a bath. Jared Leto had a nosebleed. There was glamour, Blondie, cars with the doors that lift up from the floor, mad watches, madder suits, perms, Studio 54, snowsuits, cigarettes, cigarettes, cigarettes and yes, even Al Pacino. House of Gucci looks to be absurd. And no, we can't wait to see it either.

All of this madness is backdropped by a serener, simpler version of European neostocracy; a building that would've been eclipsed by the high camp theatre of House of Gucci if it wasn't the actual titular house of the Guccis (and thus, a high tower of high camp itself). Welcome, signore e signori, to the Villa Balbiano.

Pacino, as patriarch Aldo Gucci, presides over a family lunch on a lovely patio, and we're afforded the first look at this 16th Century palazzo on the gilded contours of Lake Como. It's ridiculous. There are six very "my liege!" suites designed by an award winning interiors man named Jacques Garcia, a private pier, a manicured stretch of lawn that earned a nod from the British Society of Garden Designers, 17th Century frescoes, a massive pool and a reasonably reliable WiFi connection. And the best bit? You can actually stay there.

In pre-plague times, Villa Balbiano has allowed various couples with names like Hugo and Tabitha to marry in its marble halls. Now, it's open for business once more. A big event can fit 550 people. Private hire of the villa can accommodate up to 12 guests, who can grow fat and silly on the services of a private chef. You're just a short 40 minute drive from central Milan too. A perfect holiday, then.

Big holidays in big palatial houses often come with big price tags, though. A week at the Villa Balbiano could set you back almost €147,000 according to myprivatevillas.com. Look, it costs a lot of money to look this Gucci!
