When time stands still, monthly highlights can be a rarity. There's payday, sure. But These Unprecedented Times have turned our calendar into mush. You had dinner plans next week, though they're on ice: someone's quarantining for two weeks, or something. There was rumour the restaurant isn't even open anymore. Nothing, sadly, in this new life is sure. Except for Prada: a rare ray of sunlight through the jumbled clouds that, for the last year, has bestowed excitement and anticipation with its monthly limited edition Timecapsule collection. At the very least, it gives menswearheads some semblance of the passage of time.

September's release is as good as the last – if not better. As another short sleeved, classic boxy shirt (a staple of Ms Miuccia Prada ever since a standout S/S '16 show launched the silhouette into the style canon), the piece, once again, takes its cue from the world of motor racing. Though where May's instalment was all Le Mans and Sixties, the latest drop is undeniably retrofuturist. Shades of yellow, orange and red are fused into a geometric print upon a black base, 'September' emblazoned upon the back just so everyone knows at what month you copped one of fashion's most graily artefacts. It's Ken Miles, on the winner's podium not in Sarthe, but on Barbarella's Mars, a psychedelic palette as punchy in 2020 as it is in the sci-fi of the Seventies.

As with all Timecapsule releases, the September shirt is limited to just 50 pieces worldwide and is to be sold solely throughout Europe and in select markets elsewhere (Japan, South Korea, China, the US, Canada, Brazil and Hong Kong). And if that wasn't exclusive enough, you can only purchase the piece within a 24-hour window from 3pm CET tomorrow. Good luck.

Available at prada.com, priced £735
