Discover the colour of The Macallan with Esquire at an exclusive whisky evening

The Esquire gent will be used to choosing the cut of his suit, the hue of his tie, and sometimes, even the shade of his socks. But now, for the very first time, he is also able to choose both the colour and taste of his tipple, with the launch of The 1824 Series by The Macallan.

Named after the luxury distillery’s founding year, this innovative new range masterfully presents The Macallan’s unique single malt to create a collection that’s both naturally intense in flavour and colour. Expertly matured in carefully selected Spanish-sherry-seasoned oak casks, the four colourful expressions are precious and unique: Gold. Amber. Sienna. Ruby.

Soft and alluring, the Gold expression is bursting with zesty lemon – cut through by sharp, dark chocolate, while Amber’s chorus of sweet vanilla notes ends with a soft fruit finale. With a gradual darkening through the range, Sienna offers citrusy orange notes and the sumptuous and spicy Ruby completes the quartet with rich burnished notes, a hesitant sweetness, and prevailing oaky overtones.

Why not taste for yourself? The Macallan has teamed up with furniture maker David Linley – who has designed a bespoke case for the collection inspired by The Macallan’s exceptional oak casks – to offer four lucky Esquire readers the chance to attend a small, intimate event, 6.30–8pm on 11 December. Winners will enjoy a tutored nosing and tasting of the full 1824 Series with brand ambassador David Miles, and will also receive a bottle of The Macallan Amber and glassware.
