Glenfiddich, with innumerable gold medal wins at the most prestigious global spirits events, is the world’s most awarded single malt. It is also known for maintaining an unrivalled collection of rare and aged whiskies. Now, thanks to the tireless work of the distillery’s Malt Master, Brian Kinsman, and the pioneering technology of the Glenfiddich Gallery, they are being made available to the public.
“The idea of the Glenfiddich Gallery is to take you on a journey through our warehouses to unlock a world of incredible flavour and exclusivity,” says Kinsman. “Here you can access some of our finest private collection whiskies, which I’m delighted to share for the first time.”
The online portal allows for the creation of a beautifully bespoke whisky. Everything from the packaging to the label to the whisky itself is customisable - the latter via Glenfiddich’s new Taste Profiler system.
Accompanied by beautiful photography, the Taste Profiler allows whisky lovers to hone in on their palate’s preferences by answering four simple questions that help to deconstruct their palate. This is then plotted on a flavour map which suggests hand-selected whiskies from the Glenfiddich archives by Kinsman himself, that are perfectly suited to their tastes.
The expertly-curated selection of rare single malts includes whiskies finished in rum casks, Bordeaux casks and refill bourbon barrels. All in all there are 36 limited edition whiskies available, some of which are over 50 years old. Once the liquid itself has been decided upon, the personalisation continues - firstly the colour palate, then the name and text adorning the label, before finally customising the engraving on the copper plaque.
A unique means of accessing some of the world’s finest whisky - with the launch of the Taste Profiler it appears Glenfiddich has struck gold once again.
Currently available for UK customers only, prices range from £390 up to £100,000. Visit glenfiddichgallery.com to open up an exclusive world of whisky.
