Shock Yourself Awake

If your alarm clock just isn't persistent enough to wake you up (snoozing for 30 minutes goes beyond the 'just a little lie in' time limit) you might need something else to wake you up. It's time to consider shock therapy.

Wildly preferable to actual shock therapy, this is an alarm clock that gives out a small shock when you turn it off, therefore forcing you to wake up. Apparently the shock triggers parts of the brain that forces you to wake up quickly, otherwise known as the 'that bloody hurts, I'm up now' part of the brain. That's the scientific term for it.

Called the singNshock, it mixes a music dock, alarm clock and optional (we must stress that, optional) electric shock to make an object that can be used as a vital wake up tool or a cruel prank on house guests. The music player dock allows you to set your favourite song as a wake up tone, which apparently helps you wake up faster than a random ringtone. The electric shock does the rest. It's still in development, presumably because they don't want any malfunctioning versions of something that's designed to give electric shock (we've all seen Robocop; malfunctioning machines can only lead to disaster). When it comes out, we'll be first in line. With gloves on.
