Assuming Game of Thrones doesn't continue to torture its fans, Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen will finally meet in Season Seven Episode Three. But don't expect it to be all OMG ur dragons are so cute and No way! You wanna kill Cersei too? Because these are two very different people we're talking about here. Daenerys has proven to be ruthless when she needs to—especially when she's demanding loyalty from her subjects. And she expects to cruise into Westeros, torch anyone standing in her way, and sit on the Iron Throne that she feels is rightfully hers.

And even though an alliance with Jon Snow seems like the most adult way to settle all this business, it's not going to be that easy. Jon has been named King in the North by all the remaining powerful lords loyal to the Starks. That loyalty was tested, though, when he bounced to go hang out with the daughter of an evil tyrant who was overthrown in a bloody war. Sure, he never desired power, but he can't just bend the knee to the Mother of Dragons—certainly not if it means handing Daenerys a bunch of armies that won't follow her.

They'll have to find some sort of middle ground, which, with Daenerys, has proven difficult.

This week, HBO released an image of the letter Tyrion sent to Jon Snow. In it, he conveniently leaves out the detail that bending said knee is exactly what Daenerys expects Jon to do. He's going into this thinking they're going to just start a really chill alliance.

So, what's going to happen when Jon lands in Dragonstone? Tyrion is likely hoping he can talk some sense into Daenerys. Varys, as we've discussed, might see the kinglike qualities in Jon that he's always desired in the person to sit on the Iron Throne. Those two might be enough to convince Daenerys to see reason, but if not? Watch out.

Last episode a key discussion between Melisandre and Daenerys revealed that the Red Priestess's Prince That Was Promised could actually be a Princess That Was Promised. As we've learned, with putting her faith in Stannis and burning the Baratheon family alive (along with nearly Gendry), Melisandre has made some questionable choices. She's also very persuasive! And it's possible she could influence Daenerys the way she did Stannis. After Jon Snow banished her from Winterfell, she's probably not all that cool with him.

There's three things that could happen: 1.) things go completely fine between Daenerys and Jon and they join forces and win the war and live happily ever after. 2.) Melisandre convinces Daenerys to sacrifice Jon to the Lord of Light in order to win the war. 3.) Daenerys just torches Jon with her dragons.

Option 1 would be nice, wouldn't it? But in Options 2 and 3, we can assume that if the R+L=J theory is true, then Jon would survive the fire (like Daenerys has on multiple occasions) thanks to his Targaryen lineage and his true parents would be revealed. This is purely speculation, but seeing as fans have been doing a pretty good job anticipating every little thing that happens on Game of Thrones, don't write off this violent twist just yet.
