Ah, to be young. To be full of the wrinkle-free folly that predates adulthood. It is a good time, a right and free time, one in which you can run gayly through wheat fields at dusk; the farmer's protestations drowned out by your breathless laughter, Hahahaha!! Worry is abstract, a far-off concern. Tomorrow. Because for now you are young and untouchable and you can say, wear, do and run whatever and wherever you want.

Except that, you're not and you can't. Even if you're a very wealthy actor with - no doubt - a team of stylists at your disposal - youth is no bulletproof shield. Farmers will catch you (unless you're naughty, elusive Theresa) and blue jeans, ill-fitting blazers and high-top trainers don't work... even if you're 21.

Above you will see what is probably the most common pitfall that young men fall into, particularly when 'dressing up', which is to become bamboozled by choice and confidence and thus try and incorporate about four different looks into one outfit.

If Tom took off the blazer, we'd be left with a totally acceptable - albeit slightly douchey - casual, streetwear'ish outfit, but he didn't, so what we've got instead is a sort of backing dancer/early 2000's Justin Timberlake/tech start-up young billionaire mash-up that isn't working for anyone, least of all him.

If you are going to wear jeans with a blazer and trainers, then by far your best bet is to opt for a slimmer, darker jean with little-to-no stacking; clean white low-top trainers and blazer that is navy and unstructured - so it doesn't look like you've pulled out your left-over suit jacket.

Tom Holland has proven in the past that he can do a good job at dressing for an occasion, so maybe he decided that he just couldn't be bothered this time around. Either way, let this be a warning against becoming too casual on the red carpet.

Tom proving that he can do it!

With that said, making style mistakes is part of the deal when you're in your early twenties. He's got plenty of time to sort it out.
